The election of the President of Nagorno-Karabakh will require a second round
This year on March 31, the presidential elections in self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh (NKR) ended without a winner. The leading candidate, the former prime minister of the republic, Arayik Harutyunyan, who received 49.26% of the vote, lacked less than 1% of the vote to be elected president in the first round. His closest opponent, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh, Masis Mayilyan, won the support of 26.4% of voters, while the former secretary of the Security Council of the Republic, Vitaly Balasanyan, took the third place with 14.7%, „Kommersant” reports.
